An entirely new splint design formulated from design and fabrication instructions for thermal plastic splints across multiple hand splinting/fabrication textbooks and trying out numerous neoprene/Velcro braces, this splint was originally designed for personal use back in 2016. I have long struggled with flares of DeQuervian's tenosynovititis in my right hand and desperately needed a solution that worked for me. Everything I tried from OTC Velcro braces to the ones my PT custom made from thermal plastic were hot, uncomfortable, and restricted my movement too much to work while wearing them. It quickly became one of my most popular splints loved by artists and professionals for providing necessary support for everything from carpal tunnel to just generalized pain/inflammation, while being discreet and low profile enough to wear under gloves working with patients yet still allowing full normal range of motion for building and creating.
Expertly hand forged from heavy wire stock this splint helps stabilize the thumb MCP and CMC joints and block hyperextension, embellished with a beautiful faceted semi-precious gemstone set in a sterling silver or yellow gold filled bezel. We've recently redesigned the connections on this splint so that it allows total ease of use, no more struggling to get chains clasped where you want or inadequate support from not being able to clasp them tight enough!
