This splint is designed to help stabilize and support both the IP and MCP joints of the thumb at the same time. Unlike the standard thumb MCP splints, this type does not require a chain as the grip on the IP joint keeps it secured. A chain on this splint will interfere with the ability to bend the thumb normally.
Please select your IP joint ring size and desired metal type from the drop down menus and add in the notes field the distance between thumb creases measured along the inside edge of the thumb with the thumb bent as shown in the picture. This is to ensure the bar that connects the IP and MCP rings together fits properly and will not interfere with the ability to bend the thumb normally. This measurement is typically around 1.5cm.
The IP ring size is adjustable within about a half size larger or smaller.
Please note that I'm having a bit of difficulty with this particular splint type due to a hand injury, so orders with this splint may have an extended processing time.
